Complaints procedure

If you have any queries or concerns, please speak first to staff in your child’s class. They are the first point of contact with you and your child and are likely to know most about your concern. All staff want the best for your child, and developing good relationships with parents and carers is key to this.

We understand that parents expect to discuss concerns immediately, as often they are upset or worried about certain situations. Staff can sometimes deal with minor queries immediately, but during teaching time may ask you to come back at a more suitable time. Please do not take this as a brush-off. It just means they are busy, and want to listen and address you and your child’s needs calmly and at the appropriate time.

If after discussing your initial concerns you feel they have not been resolved, you can ask to see the Foundation Stage Coordinator, if your child is in Nursery or Reception, or book an appointment to see the head teacher through the school office.

For further information, please consult the DKH’s official Complaints and Disputes procedure.
