Welcome page
Welcome to DKH class blogs.
DKH Website Club started in May 2010, and is run by staff and parents with one child from each class between years 1 and 6*. At the moment, the staff members are Mr Stone, who is the school's ICT subject leader, and Ms Harrison and Ms Wilson, who teach Year 1, and the parents are Alice Malik and Jenny Turner, who also organise most of the information on the website as a whole. And the club doesn't have its own email address as yet, but you can always contact us at website@dkh.org.uk - new ideas, comments, offers of help, always welcome.
The club meets weekly, after school on Tuesdays, in the ICT suite. Club members, supported by staff and parents, use this time to work on the online diaries they are making of the work they do in class. Other class members are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and comments, in class ICT time or from home, by using the forms that appear at the bottom of each page. The club aims to encourage everybody in the school community to use the website more, for spreading news and collecting information. We're also keen to see children practising and developing their writing and ICT skills.
At the moment, the club is at an experimental stage - we're still finding out how we can best organise it and learning how the technology works. This means we're only able to take one child from each class, selected by class teachers, rotating on a half-termly basis. If the club goes well, we hope we can expand it in the future. In the meantime, please do explore as many of our blogs as you like, and get in touch with your ideas.
*There are also plans for Reception and the Foundation Stage to have its own blog, organised a bit differently - watch this space for developments!
